Paper got wet. Handwriting was illegible. Collecting cards from the truck, the barn, and three pockets was a weekly ordeal. And when Oregon's overtime law changed, they were doing the math on a napkin — and leaving thousands in tax credits on the table because the filing paperwork was too painful.
